Holistic medicine is an approach to care that looks at an animal as a whole rather than just symptoms of disease. This approach involves looking at both physical and non-physical aspects of a pet’s life. For many pets this modality provides a unique way to prevent, treat or manage medical conditions, maintain good health and quality of life. Often a combination of traditional western medicine and holistic medicine as an “integrative” approach yields the best results for our patients.
Some examples of holistic modalities used in this practice include: Acupuncture, Food Therapy, Tui-Na (therapeutic massage), Herbal Medicine, MLS laser therapy, cancer support, essential oils, supplements and veterinary kinesiotaping. Holistic medicine can be used in healthy patients to maintain health and prevent disease, or can be used to treat and manage acute and chronic injuries and conditions.
Holistic consults for new clients start at $375 (includes travel fee) These appointments are typically 1-2 hours and include a review of records and medical history, western and eastern exams, in depth discussion of your pets unique needs and options, acupuncture session, MLS laser session, assessment of the home environment for mobility issues/safety and a detailed care plan.
